Does the Groundhog Really Predict Spring?
Here in mid Tennessee the daffodils and buttercups have bloomed and gone. The warmer than normal winter temps and sunny days seemed to have fooled them into bursting out sooner than usual. A few more hardy low to the ground flowers are peeking up like the crocus. The maple and elm are budding. The Balsam Pear trees are lovely with the pure white blooms. The honeysuckle have also shown yellow but no sweet smell yet. So far i havent seen anyone into the fields, its still wet and cold. March winds here are ferocious. Last week temps made it to 70 but this week low 50s will be tops. Nights are still below freezing with ice in the horse water tubs.
